Jyotish / Vimshottari Dasha

What is Vimshottari Dasha?

Vimshottari Dasha is not just a label to copy by itself. LifeSense can show dasha labels only when the Moon and nakshatra chart data is available.

What shows up in the chart

  • Moon sign and nakshatra fields from the Jyotish chart.
  • Mahadasha period label when the dasha calculation is available.
  • Antardasha or sub-period label when the engine exposes it.
  • Period start and end anchors only when verified fields are present.

Why exact time matters

Moon position changes with time and location. Exact birth time gives stronger period anchors; missing time can lower confidence or make some period fields unavailable.

What these period labels mean here

LifeSense uses Vimshottari Dasha as a Jyotish calculation label. The page explains the period names and the chart fields required before those labels can be trusted.

What LifeSense does not fill in

If the required Moon, nakshatra, or period-anchor fields are missing, the page keeps those values unavailable instead of filling gaps with confident text.

Use this guide with the calculator

This guide is meant to help you recognize the fields after the chart is calculated, not to replace the calculator.

  • Look for these method labels in the result: Jyotish, Vimshottari Dasha, Mahadasha, Antardasha, Nakshatra.
  • Before exporting, check the time basis: Moon position changes with time and location. Exact birth time gives stronger period anchors; missing time can lower confidence or make some period fields unavailable.
  • If the result labels a field unavailable, approximate, or low-confidence, keep that boundary in your notes.
