Jyotish / Vedic Astrology

What is Jyotish?

Jyotish is the Indian system of chart calculation. LifeSense shows the calculated sidereal placements, nakshatra, and dasha labels as fields you can check and export.

What shows up in the chart

  • Sidereal planet signs and degrees when the Jyotish chart is available.
  • Nakshatra label for the Moon and supported planets.
  • Vimshottari dasha period labels when the dasha calculation is available.
  • Divisional chart labels (such as D9 and D10) when the engine exposes them.

Why exact time matters

Ascendant, houses, nakshatra timing, and dasha anchors depend on birth time and location. Unknown-time charts keep those fields unavailable or low-confidence.

What Jyotish adds to the chart

Jyotish uses the sidereal zodiac and nakshatra-based timing. LifeSense names the computed placements and period labels without turning them into commentary.

What LifeSense does not infer

If a required Jyotish field is missing, the page keeps it unavailable instead of filling it with confident text or a guess.

Use this guide with the calculator

This guide is meant to help you recognize the fields after the chart is calculated, not to replace the calculator.

  • Look for these method labels in the result: Jyotish, Vedic Astrology, Nakshatra, Vimshottari Dasha, Sidereal Zodiac, Divisional Charts.
  • Before exporting, check the time basis: Ascendant, houses, nakshatra timing, and dasha anchors depend on birth time and location. Unknown-time charts keep those fields unavailable or low-confidence.
  • If the result labels a field unavailable, approximate, or low-confidence, keep that boundary in your notes.
